The local park next to our house recently received a facelift thanks to some local and state grants. The park was establish over 50 years ago and was in need of some much needed renovations. As soon as the workman gazebos went up, I could start to see improvements.

Improvements included some new rides themselves, new paint, and a new layer of mulch. The park never had mulch before so this adds a layer of protect for the children instead of the grass that was there previously. I have heard many people comment recently on the improvements and some people from nearby towns are bringing the children here to play now since the changes. The local residents are thrilled also since it gives them a sense of pride and accomplishment in their own community since most of the people in the neighborhood volunteered their time and did most of the work. Hopefully the park will provide many years of joy for children in the area.
